At Westral, we understand that your windows set your home’s ambience, and choosing sheer curtains is one of the simplest ways to shape it.
If you want natural light and daytime privacy with a touch of modern luxury, custom sheer curtains are the ideal choice, striking the perfect balance between openness and comfort.
Our sheer curtains in Perth diffuse harsh glare into a soft glow, a noticeable difference on west-facing windows that take the afternoon sun.
Whether you are styling an open-plan living room, a coastal retreat or a cosy bedroom, sheers add movement and texture and make a room feel more spacious. They suit almost any home’s aesthetic, from plain finishes to bolder colours and patterns.
Prefer the best of both worlds? Pair your sheers with a blockout behind them for a double curtain: filtered light by day, complete privacy by night, and real practicality for any home.

Sheer curtains offer excellent daytime privacy, allowing you to see out while preventing outsiders from seeing in. However, at night, when indoor lights are on, the effect reverses.
For complete nighttime privacy, we recommend a double curtain, layering your sheer curtains with blackout blinds or drapes.
Most of our modern sheer fabrics are made from high-quality, durable polyester blends that are easy to maintain. We provide specific care instructions based on the exact fabric you choose during your consultation.
Layering is one of our most popular requests! The most functional double curtain combination is installing a blackout roller blind inside the window recess for nighttime privacy and light elimination, and mounting the sheer curtain track outside the frame.
This allows you to roll the blinds up completely during the day to enjoy softly filtered light through the sheers.
Absolutely. In fact, large windows and open-plan sliding doors are exactly where sheer curtains shine. Because we manufacture custom lengths right here in Perth, we can cover massive expanses without unsightly fabric joins.
Styles like the S-Wave track are excellent for sliding doors because they stack back incredibly tightly, ensuring your thoroughfare stays completely clear when the doors are open.
Sheer curtains do provide a small thermal advantage on their own, and a much greater benefit as a double curtain with a blockout lining, or when paired with other window furnishings such as roller blinds.
Westral’s high-quality sheer fabrics diffuse direct sunlight, significantly cutting down on intense glare and reducing the solar heat entering through your glass pane.
They also filter out harsh UV rays, which helps prevent your valuable furniture, timber flooring and carpets from fading in the afternoon sun.
Yes. At Westral, safety is built into everything we make. All our custom sheer curtains can be configured with hand-drawn (cordless) operation, keeping cords out of reach of children and pets.
